Your dinner sounds really great, however probably not a good thing to lose weight with, you added sugar. Apples are great with some celery and onions you might want to try that next time, it pairs up really nice with pork, add a little hers of your choice I like sage, but thyme and rosemary and bay leaf are nice and would add a lot of warmth and flavor to the smell permeating your home while it is roasting in your slow cooker. Try using sea salt and cracked black pepper for a fresh flavor on your meat you will find with the sea salt you do not need as much, that is good for your weight as well.

Black Grouse $70.1 The Black Grouse or Blackgame is a large bird in the grouse family. It is a sedentary species, breeding across northern Eurasia in moorland and bog areas near to woodland, mostly boreal. The Black Grouse is closely related to the Caucasian Black Grouse. These birds have a group display or lek in early spring. As with many Gamebirds, the male is larger than the female at 4955 cm compared to her 4045 cm length. The cock is very distinctive, with black plumage, apart from red wattles and a white wingbar, and a lyreshaped tail, which appears forked in flight. His song is loud, bubbling and somewhat dovelike. The female is greyishbrown and has a cackling call. She takes all responsibility for nesting and caring for the chicks, as is typical with gamebirds. The male and female are sometimes referred to by their folk names, Blackcock and Greyhen respectively. Sooty Grouse $60.54 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Sooty Grouse, Dendragapus fuliginosus, is a species of forestdwelling grouse native to North Americas Pacific Coast Ranges. It is so closely related to the Dusky Grouse, Dendragapus obscurus, that until recently there was some debate whether they were separate species. Adults have a long square tail, light gray at the end. Adult males are mainly dark with a yellow throat air sac surrounded by white, and a yellow wattle over the eye during display. Adult females are mottled brown with dark brown and white marks on the underparts. Their breeding habitat is the edges of conifer and mixed forests in mountainous regions of western North America, from southeastern Alaska and Yukon south to California. Their range is closely associated with that of various conifers. The nest is a scrape on the ground concealed under a shrub or log. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Collins New Naturalist: Grouse $41.39 Grouse and their habitats are of much interest to hunters and game-dog enthusiasts and to the many others involved in outdoor recreation. However grouse are also of great value in their own right as a beautiful part of nature. Recent research regarding government policies has clarified old problems and controversies which makes this new study on British grouse timely if not essential. Adam Watson and Robert Moss offer some insight into the natural history and biology of British grouse species ranging from aspects of behaviour and historical relevance of their names to population fluctuations and conservation efforts. |

Ecology, Conservation, and Management of Grouse $70 Grousean ecologically important group of birds that include capercaillie, prairie chickens, and ptarmiganare distributed throughout the forests, grasslands, and tundra of Europe, Asia, and North America. Today, many grouse populations are in decline, and the conservation and management of these charismatic birds is becoming a global concern. This volume summarizes current knowledge of grouse biology in 25 chapters contributed by 80 researchers from field studies around the world. Organized in four sectionsSpatial Ecology, Habitat Relationships, Population Biology, and Conservation and Managementthe chapters offer important insights into spatial requirements, movements, and demography of grouse. Much of the research employs emerging tools in ecology that span biogeochemistry, molecular genetics, endocrinology, radio-telemetry, and remote sensing. The chapters explore topics including the impacts of climate change, energy development, and harvest, and give new evidence for life-history changes in response to human activities. |

Greater Sage-Grouse $95 Admired for its elaborate breeding displays and treasured as a game bird, the Greater Sage-Grouse is a charismatic symbol of the broad open spaces in western North America. Unfortunately these birds have declined across much of their rangewhich stretches across 11 western states and reaches into Canadamostly due to loss of critical sagebrush habitat. Today the Greater Sage-Grouse is at the center of a complex conservation challenge. This multifaceted volume, an important foundation for developing conservation strategies and actions, provides a comprehensive synthesis of scientific information on the biology and ecology of the Greater Sage-Grouse. Bringing together the experience of thirty-eight researchers, it describes the bird’s population trends, its sagebrush habitat, and potential limitations to conservation, including the effects of rangeland fire, climate change, invasive plants, disease, and land uses such as energy development, grazing, and agriculture. |
