Both work extremely well, although the carbon block filter has a higher contaminant removal. Of course, the more carbon in the filter, the better the filter is.

These filters actually do not require a lot of upkeep. But be sure to replace them often, as they do fill up and are no longer working well. Try not to wait to long, the bad taste and odors from the water to return. There are many different styles and sizes of water filters to choose from. And they are extremely easy to install. Many instructions are on the internet, or once you bought the filter, they are on the back of the box.

Price wise, a carbon water filter can range from fifty dollars up to and over one hundred. They are safe and will give you good, clear and clean drinking water. They are great if you are a coffee or tea drinker.
