Fun Gadgets For Men
This time of year is always a nightmare for me. I have Christmas, then Valentine’s Day and then my husbands birthday, all within 2 months of each other and I am usually all out of inspiration by the birthday. Here are some of my best gadgetry highlights that I have sent my husband’s way over the last few years.
A GPS – All the keen sportsmen (and women) are hankering after a GPS to better record their performance at running and cycling. What’s more this is a perennially good idea as the model you bought one year will almost definitely have been upgraded and superseded with new features the following year.
Running rucksack – the sports gift extends to other paraphernalia – there is bound to be some aspect of the man’s favourite sport that he needs whether this be a running rucksack, cycling sunglasses or a new pair of SPD shoes for the bike.
Mobile phone and case – much like the GPS, although he may already have a mobile phone, don’t you think he wants a newer, shinier one with more functionality? Or if he has only just upgraded his phone then you can’t have enough leather phone cases for your phone. Think of a new phone case like a new handbag – you need one for all scenarios – a waterproof case for commuting on the bicycle in the rain, and arm strap for when he’s out running and a distinguished leather phone case for when he’s attending his business meetings.
Or you could just go down the boy’s toys root – a few years ago I tried the model helicopter. This was successful for a few months until he repeatedly crashed it into the grass and his knee caps and broke all the spare blades. It has been languishing in its box in the attic for the past few months waiting for the children to grow up so that we can all head down to the playpark and try again. This year we’re all getting excited again. I’ve gone for a construction toy, robotics kit. Roll on the children’s bedtime so we can get the cellophane off and pour the glass of wine and start reading the instructions.
