Why Mountain Bikes are fun rides
Riding bikes is a fun experience and is good exercise for our body and mind. It is a fun and a clean way to travel if you are eco conscious. Unlike road bikes, mountain bikes are designed to be used on off-road trails as well as paved roads. They have better traction and stability, which come from their wide tires. They have features like shock absorption and front suspension to support rough trails and terrains. Usually they have three chain rings in the front and eight or nine gears at the back wheel. They are ideal for traversing through woods, rocky paths and uneven surfaces you find on off-roads. The knobby tires on the bicycle give a strong grip on gravel, dirt, rock and sand. The tires offer greater volume and comfortable traction. The rims and spokes of the tires are durable and stronger to withstand all pressures and abuse of a rough ride.
The frame of mountain bikes comes in many different forms. Most entry-level mountain bikes are made of steel. Next in line of supremacy are aluminium, carbon fibre frames and titanium. The handlebars of a mountain bike are usually flat but these can also vary according the bike. The handlebars of a mountain bike give the rider a wider grip and allow better positioning to the rider. The riding position of the mountain bike always gives the rider well-placed control, allowing weight shifting, balancing and adjusting to be easy.
The wide range of gears available to a mountain bike makes it simpler to handle all kinds of terrains. From low gears to high end, the range is versatile and wide. There is a gear to encounter every kind of terrain that you meet. The pedals too come in different styles. Mountain bikes also include some accessories to its riding. Head gear, gloves, cyclocomputers and other riding gear are common to be used with mountain bikes. Before you buy a mountain bike or for that matter any other road bike, consider factors like where you will be using the bike, for what purposes and what the other options are.

Zero-Carbon Homes: A Road Map $46.57 Housing is a major contributor to CO2 emissions in Europe and America today and the construction of new homes offers an opportunity to address this issue. Providing homes that achieve "zero carbon," "carbon neutral," "zero-net energy" or "energy-plus" standard is becoming the goal of more innovative house-builders globally, whilst energy providers seek to decarbonise the energy supply to new and existing development. Various new technical systems for achieving these goals are beginning to emerge. For example the passive house whose energy requirement for space heating and cooling is almost zero; the smart grid that has revolutionized the management of energy, whilst enabling the connection of small-scale, renewable energy producers and electric vehicles to the grid; or the European super-grid which will enable zero carbon energy to be generated in the Sahara desert and stored in Norway. This book explores the diverse approaches that are being adopted around the world to delivering zero carbon homes and the different societal systems and geographic circumstances in which they have developed. It postulates a roadmap for delivering zero carbon homes, together with a toolbox approach for policy and practice to suit particular national and local circumstances. A series of case studies are presented that offer lessons for delivering zero carbon homes. These examples are also used to demonstrate how prototype systems can move into the mainstream. The book highlights some of the instruments and mechanisms that could be used to support this transformation and addresses the wider implications of introducing these innovative systems in terms of industry, lifestyle and urban form. |
