Blue Pashminas to Chase Away the Blues
Blue is often considered a cold color. When used incorrectly to decorate a living room or bedroom, certain shades of blue imply a certain chill. In the wacky world of fashion, blue is anything else but. The wide ranging shades from softest baby blue to sky blue to turquoise and even deep, dark navy blue are indicative of a variety of emotions but coldness is not one of them. Instead, many turn to the color blue to chase the blues away.
Yet, the availability of so many different blues can end in disaster if you don’t get it right. You need to select a blue you can match easily with your other outfits. There is also the big mistake – combining too much blue – accessories with a touch of blue matched with a blue dress or suit. Blue gemstones shining out of a few select jewelry pieces are picked in an attempt to match the blue of an evening gown or formal wear. Make one slip up, one mismatched blue and your look like a patchwork of clashing colors. But do not despair. If you simply adore blue, you can accessorize in a way so it all looks blended and in complete harmony.
The first piece of fashion business: avoid picking shoes and purses in the matching shade of your outfit. This cuts down on what will, ultimately, be frustration and expense.
